The right tone for a new story
We are producing a series of videos in our ongoing collaboration with the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research. This visual output not only serves to capture the full scope of their work, but provides a cinematic backdrop to accompany what is an overall rebranding process. Sensu.green is thereby playing an important part in the shaping of a new brand identity for NIOZ, conveying the urgency and broader significance of their scientific activities.

Unveiling the anatomy of an institute
Our work for NIOZ brings together the various aspects that distinguish this centre of expertise in marine science. It includes in-depth introductions to their freshly delineated research departments and the staged unveiling of a first-rate research fleet, culminating in an overarching corporate film. Taken together, we are setting the standard for their visual output while establishing a new narrative based on two main pillars: climate change and biodiversity.
As green as it gets
NIOZ has chosen a fresh path, in which the critical themes of climate change and biodiversity are what connects all of their activities. This focus forms an unequivocal match with our core values at Sensu.green. Aided by our rich history in documentary filmmaking and deep connection to science, we are therefore more than dedicated to amplifying the global impact of their research efforts.

The birth of a leading research fleet
As part of our long-term collaboration, we are covering the ongoing upgrade of the marine research fleet at NIOZ. One by one, new research vessels of the highest standard are being constructed, christened, and put into action. We are there at every stage: documenting not just their creation, but also their active contributions to sea research and the preservation of our planet.
Key themes identified and introduced
Adding depth and clarity to the story of NIOZ, we are crafting a string of introductory films that offer insight into their brand-new organisational structure. These on-site productions present four core research departments, establishing the diverse facets of marine science practised by this institute. Our collaborative voyage has as its final destination an all-new corporate film, designed to embody the NIOZ mission: knowing the seas to safeguard our future.
Improved online presence
Through its many components, this partnership is resulting in a database of quality footage that is both consistent with and formative for the institute’s identity. In this way, we are providing NIOZ with a wealth of visual information that they can use for years to come – facilitating the growth of a recognisable and authentic online presence.
